Fresh salmon patties easy recipe that is very healthy and tasty. Salmon is one of the most favorite kinds of fish for most people. Fish is an integral part of our cuisine and we eat it several times a week on average.
We love both fresh and salted or dried fish, but especially the fresh fish is great for having with many different kinds of sauces. I think that what makes salmon so nice is its oily, rich flavor and the fact that it doesn’t have too much fishy taste you can get in some other fishes.
Salmon has a lot of nutritional value, being very good both for your brain and your heart. It is also super healthy for your skin and nails, having enough Omega 3 fatty acids.
Fresh Salmon Patties
Salmon patties are one of my favorite ways of eating salmon, since they are nice and crispy on the outside, but still very soft and moist inside. You can bread or pan-fry them if you want them to be crispier on the outside, but I think they are perfect as they are.
You can eat them with a sauce if you want, but they taste just as good if not better eaten plain too.
So, without further ado: here is the recipe!
2 lbs fresh salmon
7 oz mashed potatoes (you can use instant ones if you want)
1/2 onion, finely chopped
1 tbsp dill, finely chopped (optional)
salt and pepper to taste
Cooking Fresh Salmon Patties
In a bowl, mix the ingredients together until well combined. The mixture should be wet enough that it holds together nicely without being too much dough. If your salmon patties dough is too dry, add a little bit of milk.
Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
Spray some oil on a baking sheet and form patties with your hands.
Place them on the sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown (time depends on how big you have made the patties).
Serve the salmon patties immediately, plain or with your favorite sauce.
