Fish Taco Slaw Recipe

An easy fish taco slaw recipe that you can add to tacos made from different types of fish. The fish taco is a term used for fish (or shrimp or other seafood) wrapped in a corn or wheat tortilla.

It may be fried, grilled, blackened, or seared. Fish tacos are often served with tomatillo salsa, pico de gallo, cabbage slaw, and lime juice. They are sometimes eaten with condiments such as sour cream and salsa.

Fish tacos are very popular all over the United States. The fish taco is often served as a light dinner or an appetizer for people watching their diets because they are usually smaller than other kinds of tacos.

When enjoying fish tacos, most people dip each tortilla into their condiment of choice to add flavor. The following slaw recipe is one of the favorites that I make when often.

Ingredients:

1 small cabbage head (red or green)

1/2 cup red onion,

1 diced bell pepper,

3 diced ribs celery,

3 chopped medium carrots,

1 tablespoon garlic powder

2 tablespoons cumin seed

2 tablespoons coriander seed (whole)

pinch dried oregano

pinch cayenne pepper

salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons canola oil

1/2 cup apple cider vinegar

How to make fish taco slaw

Slice the cabbage across its width into thin shreds. Chop red onion, bell pepper, celery, and carrots finely.

Combine all the dry spices in a small bowl. Preheat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Add all the dry spices and toast until fragrant (about 1-2 minutes).

Pour in the vinegar; let it steam for a few seconds, then pour into the mixing bowl with cabbage mixture. Mix everything properly and evenly. The slaw is ready to be used in different types of fish tacos.
