Easy Garlic and Potatoes Thanksgiving Side Dishes Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 4 mediumto large russet potatoes peeled and cut into chunks
  • 1 head roastedgarlic cloves
  • ¾ cup unsaltedbutter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • ½ cup milk

Instructions
 

  • Fill a largestockpot with cold water and add the potatoes to it. Put this on high heatuntil it boils, then lower the heat to medium until the potatoes are tender forabout 15 minutes. Drain the potatoes and keep aside.
  • Put thepotatoes in a separate saucepan and add some small chunks of butter, roastedgarlic cloves, salt, pepper to taste and half the milk.
  • Mash thepotatoes using a hand masher or kitchen machine until they are smooth but notwatery (you might need to add more milk).
  • Serve themashed potatoes hot with any other side dish that you like.

Notes

You can use alternative ingredients and substitutes when making the recipe. You can also use buttermilk or milk instead of whole milk.
You can also use salted butter if you like, just reduce the amount of salt that you add to the potatoes.
