A tasty Vietnamese fish dipping sauce that you can make easily at home.

- ½ cup hot water
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 3 tbsp Vietnamesefish sauce
- 3 cloves garlic
- 2 scallions
- 2 redThai chilis or serrano peppers
In a smallbowl, whisk together the water and sugar until the sugar has fully dissolved.
Add the fishsauce and whisk to combine well. Whisk in the garlic and scallions. Transfer toa serving bowl or dipping dish.
Just beforeserving, stir in the chiles. Serve alongside your favorite dish of crudites,grilled meats, or sticky rice.
Before adding the chilis at the end, try tasting your sauce and adjust for sweetness if needed by stirring in more sugar or salt if needed (you can omit altogether if you're looking for a savory/umami flavor).
Alternatively, if you'd like your sauce spicier, feel free to stir in more chili.
